was not the problem. element is good.new control board to arrive. Turns out the control board is the problem so fix will cost $700.00 to fix. we like the stove so we are waiting for the

We finally installed it
Neither of us are talented installers, but we did it, after thirty minutes. I did pull=up a video on the internet, and that helped a lot. So happy the range is working again, and be sure to turn it on and let the item heat up, as there is some oil that releases a little bit of smoke. I love Sears products and have been using them since 1980. Sad to see them close their stores.

I suppose it is.
When I ordered it, I thought that was the problem, but after pulling the range out and checking the circuits and such, we found that we needed a new motherboard. We are waiting for it to be delivered. I may return the element if the motherboard replacement fixes the problem.
