Part Information

Ice maker IM116000 includes the ice mold and the control device. The ice maker receives water from the water inlet valve and then holds the water in the ice mold until the water freezes solid. It then automatically ejects the ice and refills to continue the process until the ice storage bin is full.

If your ice cubes seems small, it could be time for a new water filter. You can find your filter here.

Safely store any food that could deteriorate while the power is off and unplug the refrigerator when installing this part. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.

Got it in and it is producing ice

It took two of us about an hour to get it installed. We watched a video on installation as well as had the printed directions and for the most part it was not difficult. The unit fit well in the refrigerator. The water supply to the ice maker inside has a notch that locks it in place that was hard to see. The water control valve at the bottom took some time and guess work. All in all it was exactly what I needed and we now have ice.

Ice Maker for In-laws

I found out my mother in-law did not have an ice maker in December 2020. I ordered a kit in December and I opened it up and discovered it was wrong. Sent it back and ordered another one. This kit was closer, but still did not work. The third kit was plug and play it only took 30 minutes to remove the second wrong ice maker and install the correct one. Each time I was on chat with people that wanted to help me with my problem. The only negative experience was that it took 3 tries to get the correct ice maker kit. This was not a typical order the fridge never had one on it from the factory so this was a new install. I have been buying parts from Sears Parts Direct for years and will recommend them to anyone that needs parts for their appliances. They have the parts for anything you have in your home. Thanks for being there when I need parts.
