This is a critical part in a rather old Kenmore water softener, and it would be quite difficult to make your own (it's not something simple like an O-ring or flat ring. I was pleased that it was even available at all. It arrived on time, and actually at a lower price than it was 10-15 years ago!

Something so simple yet so difficult to get

All I wanted was a Venturi gasket for my water softener. Something that appears to be in high demand based off of all the online information out there. And yet, no sears stores around me carry it leaving me with no option but to order it online and wait for it for days to show up in the mail. On the plus side, it was what I ordered and was easy to replace.
