After I figured out that the wire was long enough to pill it out far enough to plug it in, it went great !! The wire was cold and would not pull easily so I didn't want to break it or pull it out of the freezer ! A little peace of paper that said wire is long enough to pull out to plug it in with out fear of breaking or pulling from the wall !! WOULD have been nice !!!!

Other than removing our ice-over broken ice maker, the install of the new one was pretty easy. Thanks for helping us save almost $200!

Simple Fix after Initial Bumps
April 09, 2020

Our icemaker began getting intermittent, then stopped completely. I think when ice got stuck in the input drip cup, it may have caused the icemaker motor to burn out. Replacing the whole assembly was simple and ensured I didn't miss other problems such as a worn shaft if I only replaced the motor. The problem I ran into was actually getting the correct part. The first one I received was much too wide, and when I reordered, at first Sears gave me the wrong part number again. I contacted chat (easy to use) a 3rd time and explained why I was concerned the unit wouldn't fit, and they finally got me the correct part number. Looking at the picture, I saw the first incorrect one had 7 "fingers" instead of 5. They should include width dimensions to make things easier. Now it's working again and we're very happy.

The original icemaker.
The incorrect part was much too wide and obviously would not fit.
