Dryer lint screen grill
Looked like someone had previously attempted to install and damaged mounting hold. Was unusable. Called customer service and a new part is being shipped.

part was defective
should have been simple installation but the plastic housing was defective on one side and i was forced to now have duct tape holding in place. For $90 part this is unacceptable

Item is not 100% compatible
The male studs on the lint screen grille were larger in diameter than the female holes on the mating part. I had to enlarge the female hole to receive the new part. This is contrary to the confirmation given to me on line!

A few glitches
Only two screws to remove, then the sensor wires were detached by pulling them off-good idea to tape the wires to the edge- they will fall into the bottom of the drier and will require a long tool to extract. I removed the lint screen door and support and vacuumed and cleaned the parts and the resulting vent opening before reassembling. The hardest part was removing the sensors from the grille- the tabs holding them in place could not be flattened enough to pull them through the slots. Maybe I could have gotten them out eventually, but I took a short cut and hacksawed the plastic until I could break enough to remove them. It was a minor challenge to put everything back; first, reconnect the sensor wires then line up all the parts and replace the screws(they tend to slide around in their recesses and it takes some effort to get them back through the holes. But once back together, everything worked without any additional issues. Whole thing took about an hour.

The exact part that I needed
This part was an almost exact replacement for the part that was on my dryer from the factory. I had to drill out a few of the holes to make it fit perfectly with the other existing part that holds the lint screen that it had to mate with but otherwise it was just want I needed to solve the problem. Only two screws hold this part on so removal was fairly easy. And I had to remove the little metal parts from the old one and install on the new part but that was easy as well. Dryer is back operating like new. Saved an expensive service call.

OE part
Needed to remove the metal strips from the old piece to reuse on the new piece. This was the most difficult part of the job, otherwise it was a very easy swap.
