Easy to install
The technician wanted to charge me $593 for the repair. I purchased the part and replaced it my self. However, it appears the ice maker wasn't the issue. I am still trying to determine the issue.

Ice maker motor went bad in 6 yr old fridge.
The motor went bad in the ice maker of my 6 year old Electrolux french door bottom freezer. At first I thought the water filter was plugged but after replacing the filter, the ice maker would not rotate at all by pulling on the rotating forks, figured it must be the motor. Side note, if you reach in and pull on the rotating forks for rotation to the right it should force it to manually cycle unless the motor is no good. This part replaced the whole ice maker assembly and was easy to install. Steps were to remove the door and drawers, remove the back shield, unplug the electrical component, remove one screw in the side in front of the assembly and it slides out (getting it to slide out was the toughest part). It re-uses the bracket it slides out with. Unscrew the bracket and put it on the new one and slide it back in, connect the electrical plug, and you will be back in business after you have the door back together and it gets back down to freezing again. Simple job took about an hour and half with emptying the freezer and cleaning everything well before putting it all back together. Afterwards it took two to three days for a full bucket of ice.

Not to hard
Once you get everything out of the way pretty simple install. Replaced unit in bottom freezer so removing the door made it so I didn't have to be a contortionist to get at everything that needed to be removed.

Replacing the Icemaker
Just a few screws and the wiring harness - nothing to scare away even a novice, and a great sense of accomplishment each time we hear new ice dropping into the ice bin... Ample YouTube to bolster confidence
